Hell of a Day!

I headed to Tioman Jetty to catch a Ferry at 1.30pm today. Boy did I have a few to many vodkas last... talk about 3 quarters vodka and a splash of lemo. Each time i went the bar he would charge me the exact amount i had in my hand. I clicked onto this (probably a little too late) and held less money in my hand. There not soft over here! :) Or im very soft!
Well i waited at the jetty for the ferry, and i waited and waited. The ferry final turns up at 3.30pm with lots of smiles as usual but not a mutter of sorry for being late. Im sure there isnt even a word for late in there vocabulary. Not that i should be complaining being stuck in paradise for an extra 2 hours but the circumstances weren't the best. I was stuck in long pants at the jetty in the blazing midday sun, torturous hangover and a gipsy boat had pulled in and i was surrounded by about 12 mayalsian gipsys stinking with no teeth staring at me. Spluttering some gobbeldy gook at me from time to time and then they'd laugh. I felt like the prize (very red) show pig at the village market. Well at least they had fun!

Got to mersing and told it was the school holiday and all the buses were full for 3 day. The sweat was dripping off me... my backpack was weighing me down and i was in clothes prepared for the icey air conditioning I had heard so much about on malaysian buses.. I thought I was going to dye here or burst into flames. Finally one tour operator told me to hang on till 8.30pm and maybe someone wouldnt turn up and id have there place.. It felt like a life time but thankfully 8.30pm I was boarding a bus to Kota Bharu.

A little intimidated by being the only white person and one of few woman showing my face never mind my hair.
A little into the journey A car come flying at us from behind.. lights flashing horn going over took us and forced us to stop. Lots of commotion in malaysian. I thought this is it we are being highjacked. Bit paranoid at this stage i guess!! Well thankfully it turned out the stupid gets had missed the bus and there mate chased it to catch up (well thats what i worked out anyways!)

Finally I fell asleep on the night bus. Awoken by a shuve from the driver a mummble of something. Before i had a chance to rub my eyes I was on some dark street at 5am with a malaysian running at me shouting taxi, who it turns out was just a local boy making a few bob and not a taxi atall. It was dark there was a soul in sight or a car on the road. At this stage i did think my god what am i doing! The only others were 4 Malaysians standing on the corner close by waiting for there pray. I final agreed to the way over priced taxi. What a 24 hours.. i swear id nearly had it. But finally reached Perhentian Islands.
